My Story

Moudhi (Mimi) Al Twaijri, MA, MSc, PhD, GMBPsS, DSFH, HPD, MAfSFH (Reg), MNCH (Reg), CNHC (Reg)

Mimi is living in Manchester with her rescue cat 'Minnie' and dog 'Peanut'. She enjoys hikes and walks and being in nature. As a child, she has moved around countries due to her parents work, and as a result her character has been enriched with different cultures and backgrounds. She's lived between Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, California (USA), Colorado (USA), London (UK), and now resides in Manchester (UK). She speaks English and Arabic fluently, and basic French and Spanish.

Mimi‘s journey in education has been long. She has accumulated along the years a PhD in Psychology and two master's degrees in Psychology and Counselling Psychology. Mimi’s main interest was emotion processing, her PhD dissertation discussed it thoroughly and examined different neuro atypical populations. However, the most interesting common factor of all those studies is how the mind does not know the difference between imagination and reality which aligns with the science behind hypnotherapy.

She is a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist who uses and integrates techniques of therapy based on Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and psychodynamic approaches to help clients deal with a range of life’s complications.

Solution Focused therapy acknowledges that the client is the expert on themselves and their lives. The therapist is a facilitator, using the techniques of Solution Focused questioning and hypnotherapy to help the client make small changes towards their goal – towards the client’s preferred future. A course of treatment is likely to be 8 to 12 sessions. Sessions are offered online or in person, either way it is the same effect and benefit.

Drop me an email, and lets talk and see whether hypnotherapy is suitable for you.
